LOL!

It is still hard for me to fathom that Ike was so strong that it did that much damage all the way up there. Nature is amazing and sometimes very scary. Glad you guys didn't get squished by one of those big trees.Damama Thttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00433392172815959276noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3696630809184593904.post-89197715827858879102008-09-24T18:34:00.000-04:002008-09-24T18:34:00.000-04:00Hahaha, I love the invisible guy:)Those kittens ar...Hahaha, I love the invisible guy:)

Those kittens are SO cute..I'm trying to fight getting one myself. But I keep thinking about it.

That must have been one scary windstorm. You're right, God definitely was looking out for you. I'm so glad it didn't cause any more damage than this.MyKidsMomhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08829690651886059542noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3696630809184593904.post-46740099176575069282008-09-23T11:12:00.000-04:002008-09-23T11:12:00.000-04:00Weavermom,Thanks. Maybe we'll try again someday if there is a different group doing it.

=====================================

Tara,

I'm glad your ankle is feeling better.

My little ones are a little bored with this chapter as well. I let the boys (6 and 3) go play in their room while we are reading TLATG. They usually wander back in the room to listen though. I think we are all looking forward to a unit with more activities. We have two days left of chapter one. So, unless something else happens, we'll be starting unit two/chapter two Thursday.

===================================

Kawaii Crafter,

You're welcome, thanks for visiting!

The announcer really didn't entertain any more than that one comment.

===================================

Dawn,

There seems to be more damage than I was originally able to see. Now that the limb is drying out we can see more. We'll have to wait for the removal to find out the extent of the damage. The tree removal companies are overbooked right now.

===================================

Mrs. Darling,

I hope Tink feels better soon!

Hopefully, you will be able to find a Pow Wow put on by a better group. The one we went to was a big let down.

Through church the girls and I (I'm one of the leaders) are joining Sonflower Scouts this year. The Sonflower Scouts are the answer some ladies in our church came up with to allow girls to join scouting without the high costs of American Heritage Girls. The first half of this year (school year) we will be studying Native American Indians. We're kicking off the program with a Pow Wow of our own at one of the ladies' houses. The girls will be doing crafts, eating, and doing some other activities to get to know one another. I'm sure we will enjoy this Pow Wow a lot more than the other.Brandihttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00695033834014965060noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3696630809184593904.post-76506096886390175132008-09-23T10:14:00.000-04:002008-09-23T10:14:00.000-04:00Goodness how scary are those trees.I would love to...Goodness how scary are those trees.

I would love to attend a pow wow. I wanted to go to a Civil War reenactment this past weekend but Tink got sick. I never really thought to look around here for a real powow to attend.Mrs. Darlinghttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12911621891840832728noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3696630809184593904.post-109216086763389262008-09-22T00:30:00.000-04:002008-09-22T00:30:00.000-04:00Oh my gosh! I a...Hi Brandi....loved seeing pix of your family.

I am grateful no more damage was done with that tree...gulp!

Your new kittens are darling...we are about to adopt a new one ourselves.

My ankle is healing. I haven't been wrapping it much this week. So that MUST be good, right?

we are kinda doing chapter one...the first week we did the supplement work and all the other add-ons...talked about promises/covenant and then did the first bible lesson. so we aren't really following the DbD as we normally would. I didn't have time to get to the lesson planning due to my ankle injury and the unpacking going on BUT had to do SOMETHING!!

We talked about the woodchuck today-ROTFLOL. The kids weren't as amused by that as I thought they would.

Unfortunately this chapter is boring my K level son BADLY. I hate that she didn't include stuff for K-2. I know I could add stuff and likely would have IF I had all of my books AND my printer/copier/scanner....but I was limited to what I had with me. And since I didn't have my driver's license until Monday going to the library wasn't an option until dh got home from work...and HE is gone this week. SO am hoping to get to the library this weekend to pick up some books that will interest S a little bit.Tara Ohttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10473024469018444656noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3696630809184593904.post-83230846828819852552008-09-17T21:11:00.000-04:002008-09-17T21:11:00.000-04:00Wow! I bet you could do without some of it!

We used to live in the South and there was one tree in our yard I always watched during storms! :)

Sorry the pow-wow was a letdown.weavermomhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05775825441858350484noreply@blogger.com
