My Sweet Monkey

Yesterday afternoon, we were at Sears. We had been there for a while and on the way out dh stopped to look at tools. (When dh is with us we have to park at the end of the mall near the entrance by the tools. He hates to walk through the lingerie department.) My back was getting tired, so I took the girls over to a lawn furniture display and we sat down to wait for the guys. The seat I sat down on was too deep for me to sit all the way back. I tried leaning back, but that caused a lot of pain. Monkey had chosen to sit on a two person seat with Froggie. Before I realized what was going on, she was beside me tucking a pillow behind my back. With the pillow behind my back, the depth of the seat was perfect and a lot of stress was relieved from my back. Monkey was so thoughtful it brought tears of pride to my eyes. I made sure she knew just how much I appreciated her.

Isn't it great when they do things like that and you wonder where they learned it and then smile and realize it was from YOU?

you should be more then proud!

Sorry I haven't been around much lately...I'm back in the swing of things I hope!

Hope you and yours are well!

Isn't it great when you see a glimpse of maturity beyond their years? :) Isn't it doubly-great when it is directed toward you?? :)

Hope your back is better!

Thanks for the well wishing!

My back is most of the way better now. It's not totally normal, but it is getting there. I don't have to take my muscle relaxer any more than once a day now. Hopefully, I won't even need it tomorrow. I haven't taken it yet today, but I may need to later.

I'm glad you're back Lucille!

Weavermom, they do tend to give me a delightful surprise from time to time.

Mrs. Darling, my husband was looking over my shoulder when I was reading your blog. He said, "Those aren't really their names are they?" He said the names (Tink, Peter, and Tiger Lily) out loud and led me to the realization that the names are from Peter Pan. Of course he figured it out right away. I just hadn't taken the time to think about the names. He then said, "She didn't!". "She didn't what?" "She signed it 'Mrs. Darling'." "Oh!" Yeah, it's only took my husband pointing it out to me after a couple months of reading your blog. My husband focussed on the names. I focussed on the posts. That's my story and I'm sticking to it.

I agree with Lucille - Monkey was only monkeying what she's learned from you. ;o) Good moms have that effect on their kids! Unfortunately, so do the bad ones. Aren't you glad you fall in the former category! ;o) xoxoxo

Damama T,

I see those bad traits, as well. Hopefully, the good outweighs the bad.
