We had hoped to have a "civil war" of our own the last time we had a good snow. Unfortunately, the snow was powdery so we didn't get to have our war. That night, when Monkey was saying her bedtime prayers, she prayed that we would have a good, big, packing quality snowfall before Spring. (Changed to update: The 11 o'clock news just said we were officially at 12" of snow.) Yes, we were able to pack it. Yes, we were able to have our "civil war". (For those of you who didn't already know, we are currently studying the civil war in our homeschool.)
Our county and the surrounding counties have a level 3 snow emergency. Only authorized personnel are allowed out on the roads. If someone is caught out on the roads they can get ticketed. Jon took Puppy Dog back to our garage with him and PD had to go through some snow that was up to his waist.
Never underestimate the prayer of an eight-year-old (or any child for that matter). I learned several years ago that I shouldn't.

Ahhh so it was her fault! Tell her I said *thanks* quite sarcastically!
J/k... I dunno when I'll be able to get out of here, not quite sure how we're gonna get these blocks shipped!
Not sure how much I got either, it's 3' at the back garage door, but I can see grass in a couple of places, so I don't even know how they're able to measure it... must be averaging.
My yard looks like it's full of white sand dunes! lol I was wanting a good snow, but wasn't exactly the best time for it to happen...
Looks like news is saying Wilmington got 14", last I heard Hillsboro was getting hit harder, so I may have more than that... not sure if that includes last night's snow or just what fell today... we've got more coming in tomorrow?? lol sheesh
I didn't mean to make it to where it was that much snow!
I meant just some, just a little bit of snow like three inches or something.
Sorry, Aunt TMBMT!
Love ya,
Monkey
haha it's okay, it's beautiful! Uncle Joe came and dug out my driveway with his Bobcat today :)
I read this and had to go put on a coat!! And it was (whispering) mid 70s here today. I do so wish I could send some of this wonderful warmth your way!
Hey, Monkey - can ya maybe pray for some of that white stuff to land here in Houston around August?? ;o)
Damama T,
Monkey is speechless. I'm not sure what she thinks about snow in Houston in August. (She just whispered in my ear, "She could try to pray.")
Hi Sweet Monkey! In August here it's usually about 100+ deg. I promise that a lot of people, including me, are praying BIGTIME! I just thought that maybe God might finally grant our requests if there was one more voice - a sweet little Monkey voice - helping to get his attention! Now please do me a favor and tell your mommy I said to please give you a hug for me. xoxoxo
Monkey says she'll pray.
